The director’s philosophy is based on learning through play.

The director’s philosophy is to develop children’s social, emotional, intellectual, language, and physical skills. Each child has unique characteristics that help to develop these skills. Each aspect of development is equally important, and children learn better in an environment where there is trust and honesty.

Also, a safe and caring environment is very important for development. The director’s philosophy is to treat the children in her centre like she would treat her own children while treating the parents in a way that she would like to be treated as a parent while treating the staff in the environment like she would want to be treated as a staff member.

The director’s philosophy is to accept suggestions from parents, viewing them as highly valuable towards the development of the centre. The input from parents is helpful since we can involve everyone in the centre. This builds a relationship between staff members and parents, which allows parents to trust the staff. Parents are welcome to assist at the centre by volunteering on field trips, donating items to the centre, and also helping throughout the centre.

Having a centre that is multicultural is important for a child’s development. Showing different cultures to the children shows them that their friends come from different places and believe in different things. To support our multicultural environment, Happy Faces & Out Of School Care sponsors two children in Africa by providing food, clean clothes, education, and shelter for them. We would also like to be a part of the community as a whole by providing community services, such as giving a helping hand. Every year, each child, the staff, and I go to clean the park up twice a year. This teaches children that whatever we play with should be looked after as well.
